Siylis ("we," "us," "our") provides a conversational intelligence that stores context to improve your experience. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
We keep this document honest. If something changes, we'll tell you. If you have questions, privacy@siylis.com reaches a person.

We do not collect biometric data. We do not collect location data. We do not build advertising profiles.

When you use Siylis to chat with an AI model, your conversation messages are sent to that model's API provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) to generate responses. This is necessary for the service to function. We send only what's needed for the conversation — not your full memory archive.
Each AI provider has their own privacy policy and data handling practices. We encourage you to review them. We select providers who commit to not training on API inputs, but we are transparent: once data reaches a third-party API, their policies govern that data.
We do not use third-party analytics platforms that track you across the web. We do not embed third-party advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.
Your memories are encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. API keys you store with us are encrypted. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
No system is perfectly secure — anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. We take reasonable, appropriate measures to protect your data, and we stay current with security practices. If a breach occurs, we will notify affected users promptly and transparently.
We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. When you delete specific memories, they are removed from our systems. When you delete your account, all associated data — memories, conversations, preferences — is permanently deleted.
We don't keep ghost copies. We don't retain data "just in case." Deleted means deleted.
Temporary log data (IP addresses, error logs) is retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes, then purged.

We do not use tracking cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. There are no cookie walls or dark patterns here. The site works because of a small number of functional cookies, and that's all we set.

Siylis is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. We handle your data with the same protections regardless of where you're located. We are committed to complying with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR for users in the European Economic Area.
If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version here with a new "Last Updated" date. For significant changes — ones that affect your rights or how we handle your data — we'll notify you by email before they take effect. We won't bury changes in legalese and hope you don't notice.
